Compressed Air Conditioning -->Air Filter & Water Separator
There are some undesirable contaminations in the compressed air obtained as a result of compressing the air sucked from the environment by compressors. These contaminations; atmospheric pollution, oil in liquid form, micro-organisms, water in liquid form, rust, oil in aerosol form, water vapor in aerosol form and oil vapor.These contaminations must be removed from the system in order to prevent damage to both the products in contact with air and the machine parts working with compressed air. Except for water vapor, other contaminants are retained by water separators and filters.



Water Separators;It is the equipment that should come first in the compressed air line, after the compressed air tank. Because the water separator is the equipment that collects and throws out the liquid water and oil, that is, coarse condensate, in the compressed air by centrifugal effect. Since it removes most of the liquid water and oil from the system, it significantly reduces the contamination load of the filters that follow it.
Compressed Air Filters; It is divided into two: coalescing filter (line filter) and active carbon filter. Coalescing (line filters) are used to retain particles in the compressed air and water and oil in aerosol form. Filters called pre-filters or coarse filters generally retain particles of 1 micron and larger, while filters defined as fine filters or fine filters generally retain particles of 0.01 microns and larger. Likewise, while the amount of aerosol remaining in the air after coarse filters is 0.5 ppm, fine filters reduce this amount to 0.01 ppm.
Activated Carbon Filters It should only be used to capture oil mist. The material used in these filters can also trap water vapor and particles. However, if the air is not purified from moisture and particles before the activated carbon filter, this filter will soon become unable to perform its primary duty of retaining oil vapor.
